There’s an awful lot going on as we approach the climax of Scott Snyder and Franco Francavilla’s Night of the Ghoul.
Not only do we have struggles occurring on multiple fronts in the real world – including Forest trying to rescue the director of lost horror movie, Night of the Ghoul, from the horrific abuse he’s suffering at the nurse’s home; as well as his son Orson falling into a terrifying trap – but things are taking an interesting turn in the found footage from the movie itself too.
This continues to be a masterfully written read; though not as horrendous as last issue in terms of its graphic violence, you can tell the cover is practically daring you to pick this comic up and read its contents.
It’s such a shame that Amazon self-sabotaged Comixology so unnecessarily; their Comixology Originals line features some superb stuff – and, providing you have the stomach for it, Night of the Ghoul is another success from them.
Yet how many people have even heard of it? How many have read it? Without the proper functionality that Comixology used to have, unfortunately that number is likely to be ‘not enough ‘.
