Hey so, if you’re into tabletop gaming – including RPGs such as Dungeons and Dragons – then you probably have a big collection of dice already, right?
The thing is with sets of polyhedral dice: when one set of seven dice is enough, how many dice is too many dice?
The logical, ‘correct’ answer is: any more than one set of polyhedral dice.
The real answer, as any gamer knows, is that no amount of dice is too many.
Since the very first set of polyhedral dice I received, back in 1984 – in the red box Basic Set of Dungeons & Dragons and yes, I’m really old – I’ve purchased and accumulated hundreds of different dice.
Though it’s worth noting that I don’t have that very first set of D&D dice any more, what I still have is an obsession with collecting dice.
I’ve got a huge amount of them, stashed in dice bags and boxes all over the place. Yet there’s never enough of them, right?
Mystery Dice Goblin know this. They seem to know gamers well, with lots of pretty, fancy dice for sale via their webstore – alongside lots of cool accessories, like dice trays, and fun stuff like geeky pin badges.
Though you’re able to choose from a wide range of cool dice on their site, one cool thing they do is send out mystery packs of dice.
As a CCG gamer as well as being an aficionado of most other types of tabletop game, my brain gets a unique kick from ripping open a new bag of mystery stuff.
That same thrill you get from opening a Magic or Pokemon booster pack is replicated with the Mystery Dice from Mystery Dice Goblin; it adds to the fun of getting even more dice for your collection that, in all honesty, you probably don’t need.
They’re cool too; in the three packs of Mystery Dice they provided me with (full disclaimer: they did send me three packs for review purposes), I got three different but really nice sets of dice to add to my always expanding collection.

In the first bag I opened were these lovely opaque white dice, covered in multi coloured paint splatter. I really like these; though I have a similar set in my collection already, the quality of these ones feels higher than the cheap set I purchased before.

There’s a better, closer look at the d20; I was really impressed with these dice and couldn’t wait to open the next bag.
If I’d wanted to buy these specific dice from their site, they would have cost quite a bit more than the Mystery Dice bag’s price – check them out on the Clown Multi-Coloured Dice Set page.
What would I find inside the next one?
Opening up the second bag, I found these lovely, green and glittery dice.
I’m not sure which ones they are, having checked out the selection on Mystery Dice Goblin’s website, but they’re really pretty.

In the third bag, I uncovered some neat looking, matte-finish grey dice – which looked a little like they had a sort of stone effect.

All of the sets handle and roll really nicely, with no concerns at all about their quality.
All in all, I’m really impressed with the Mystery Dice Bags that Mystery Dice Goblin offer.
If these – or in fact, dice in general – are of interest, it’s well worth checking out their site, as they offer things you may not even have thought of, such as subscription boxes and even custom birthday/special occasion packages that make great gifts too.
You can buy their Mystery Dice Bags here.
Many thanks to Mystery Dice Goblin for providing me with the three dice sets for review purposes.
