Retro game streaming service Antstream Arcade is, frankly, incredible.
For either an annual or one-off lifetime fee, you can have immediate access to over 1500 retro games, via your PC or – now – your Xbox console.

The streaming is impeccable – I’ve never noticed any stuttering, input lag or visual drops – no doubt due to the simplicity of the decades-old games you can play. There’s a stunningly huge variety of arcade, console and computer games from yesteryear to sink your teeth into.
It’s also kept fresh by the addition of challenges that motivate you to try less familiar games – or take on other players, asynchronously, on games you’ve played loads of times before.
MSX games feature among Antstream Arcade’s retro offering – which is great, because it’s a platform that very few people in the UK ever got to try out.

And in celebration of MSX Day – which marks the 40th anniversary of the standardised MSX computing platform’s launch – two more are being added.
As the Antstream Arcade press release states: “Game Over II (Part 1 and 2), was originally known as Phantis and published in 1987 by Dinamic Software. The game is a cross scrolling shooter and platformer played over four phases of six levels each, split across two parts due to the size of the game. Kai Magazine’s Metal Dragon is a run and gun arcade-style title, taking full advantage of some of the more advanced features of the MSX.”
Not only have I never played either of these games, but I’d never actually heard of them either – so I can’t wait to check them out.
You can too, if you head over to Antstream Arcade via your computer or take a look at it on your Xbox console.
Daily Challenges are also now being added to the service – so it really is just getting better and better. If you’re a retro gamer and you’re still unaware of just how good Antstream Arcade is, you really should go and check it out immediately!
