Despite the cover and title (Tacos n Porn), the second comic featuring hapless, horny teenagers Dip and Jack is a pretty harmless affair.

The tale of two teen boys caught watching porn on a video tape (is it set in the past? I’m not sure, but it wouldn’t seem to be contemporary given this detail) sees the titular duo on the hunt for tacos, filmed nudity and, perhaps, a bit of dignity after news of their parents catching them watching smut spreads like wildfire.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the title, Tacos n Porn is full of vulgarity and juvenile humour, but it’s about as bawdy as a Carry On film (if you’re not British or of a certain age, you may have to Google those!), or something like an early 80s teen sexy comedy, at its core.

Though not really to my taste, it’s not without a little naive charm, and it’s nicely put together by creator Klifford Barkus, who writes and illustrates the entire comic.

Described by Barkus himself as ‘Kenan & Kel meet Beavis & Butthead’, I don’t think I could come up with a more apt comparison myself; that definitely feels very fitting.

So even though this kind of humour isn’t for me, if the creator’s own description of the style of Dip and Jack sounds appealing to you, it’s definitely a comic you should check out.
