We spend a bit more time with the young, new generation of Turtles in this third issue of The Last Ronin’s sequel/prequel, Lost Years. Which is definitely welcome, but what’s even more surprising is that I actually enjoyed the flashback sequence this time too.
That said, there was a blindingly obvious plot development at the end of the issue, so it was frustrating to see that play out exactly as anticipated; despite that, this is definitely the strongest chapter of the new/old saga so far.
Though I’ve been saying all along that I’d much rather we move on from the original tale of the last OG Turtle, this issue does at least create some compelling drama and presents us with a great cliffhanger too, even if the main character’s fate is already known!
