It’d be really easy to dismiss Street Fighter: Hyper Looting #1 as a cynical advertising ploy and nothing more, given that it was packed in with the geeky, mystery contents of a monthly Loot Crate back in 2015. However, it’s the least cynical time of year, and here at midlifegamergeek.com, we’re always prepared to cut the UDON Street Fighter comics a little more slack. After all, it feels churlish to complain when a comic is this much fun, right?
It’s a weird comic, admittedly; even by the often bizarre standards that can come from the extended cast of characters and lore that’s usually expected from the Street Fighter saga.
In Hyper Looting, the Street Fighter heroes team up to save the actual Loot Crate staff, as they try to find a specific box before the nefarious Shadaloo get their hands on it.
One thing you have to respect is that UDON refuse to phone it in, even for a silly promo comic. The art, supplied by a rotating cast of UDON superstars, is up to their usual standards; that is to say, it’s absolutely gorgeous.
The story moves at such a breakneck pace that non-Street Fighter fans may be lost with exactly who everyone is, especially as it ends with what might be considered a bit of a deep cut, lore wise.
Still, it’s very entertaining, doesn’t outstay its welcome and is very cheap right now, even for sealed copies. It’s well worth checking out if you’re a Street Fighter fan (here at midlifegamergeek.com, we certainly are!), but even then it’s not exactly substantial; as long as you’re not expecting anything too deep, you’ll have a blast.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
