Did you, like me, get a copy of Frenzy for the Atari+ platform (also compatible with the original 7800 of course) for Christmas? Also like me, did you happen to not get a separate copy of Atari 7800 Berzerk?

Or maybe you got Berzerk for the Atari 7800, but not Frenzy. Either way, you can play both games using just the one cartridge!

How to Unlock the Hidden Game Using an Atari 2600+

I found it a little awkward and inconsistent to unlock Berzerk on the Frenzy cartridge using an Atari 2600+, but it seemed to work by cycling through game options using the Game Select switch, then holding down Game Reset. That seems to take you straight to the hidden Berzerk, although it doesn’t have a title screen. Instead, the difference can be seen in the solid and flat, rather than bumpy (and destructible!) walls that are found in Frenzy.

Both games are incredibly similar, though Berzerk is more basic in terms of its gameplay features than Frenzy. You can do the same action using a Berzerk cartridge, to unlock Frenzy in the same way!

How to Unlock the Hidden Game Using an Atari 7800+

Using an Atari 7800+ seems much more straightforward and consistent; simply press the Select button, and it should load the hidden game (Berzerk on the Frenzy cartridge and vice versa).

Have you found any other hidden games in your new Atari+ cartridges? Is there a more consistent way to ensure the Berzerk/Frenzy hidden game unlocks every time on the Atari 2600+? Let me know in the comments below!

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!
