Aliens are stalking a pleasure resort which caters to criminals and the super rich; not only is the line between the two types of people blurred here, but the Xenomorphs themselves don’t care how rich or powerful anyone is. Trapped inside the resort as all hell breaks loose, a group of criminals and the undercover agents there to track them may be the best hope for the survival of the other guests.
The unusual setting does a lot of the heavy lifting in Alien Paradiso, which otherwise seems to be telling a fairly standard Xenomorphs-on-the-loose tale. The first issue was stronger in setting everything up, but it can’t help but feel somewhat run of the mill at points in this second chapter.
There’s some neat stylistic flourishes, including a whole action sequence rendered from the point of view of the Xenomorphs, giving some insight into how they ‘see’, but there’s also an unnecessary shoehorning in of a character related to someone who’s incredibly famous within the Alien saga. This feels unnecessary at this point, and it’s a callback to prior stories and characters that just feels like lazy fan service.
That said, I’m judging this development on its introduction here and nothing else as of yet; it may prove to be an interesting, perhaps even relevant, plot point.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
