I clearly remember taking the day off work to play the very first PS1 Resident Evil game, on the day it was released. It’s an experience that’s stuck with me for close to 30 years, and it’s a game that’s very special to me.
I get the feeling that Resident Evil had a similarly strong impact on California-based developer Michael Cosios, the creative mind behind Flesh Made Fear.
The newly released trailer, which you can view above, reveals a game which feels like a real homage to the original Resident Evil, with its style incorporating fixed cameras, low poly enemies and environments, and plenty of luridly coloured gore. It looks like a great deal of campy, jump-scare infused fun, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
With two characters, limited saves, inventory management and a narrative driven by puzzles (as well as plenty of zombie blasting), it really does look like the perfect tribute to the long-dormant formula of the first three Resident Evil games.

Unlike the zombies it features, Flesh Made Fear’s nostalgic style is making a welcome return from the dead, and I shall be adding the game to my Steam wishlist in anticipation of its Q4 2025 release!
You can add Flesh Made Fear to your wishlist too, right here on its Steam store page.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
