In no rush to read this series, I’m a little behind with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Nation. In this third issue’s first story, Raphael’s attempt to rescue his little dinosaur friend (the adorable Pepperoni) goes very wrong, and in the second story, Casey Jones challenges Karai after she crosses a line, with surprising, potentially fatal consequences.

As I’ve mentioned before in my reviews of the previous issues of Mutant Nation, I think the idea of a TMNT anthology series which can explore their universe is a good one, so why they’re focusing on the characters we always spend time with is a bit of a mystery. Admittedly, both Raphael and Casey’s stories take them out of their usual environment, as well as out of their comfort zones, but the main series of TMNT has also been shaking up the status quo quite a bit.

I’m looking forward to Mutant Nation moving into some unusual places and spending time with different characters; it’s not that there’s anything specifically wrong with the comic as is, which is put together with the care, attention and high production values you’d expect, but I just think we need to actually explore the Mutant Nation, you know?

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
