I always find it odd when gamers, particularly older ones, say that they miss playing games alongside their friends instead of just online. There’s a ton of couch co-op and competitive games available, with a huge number of them offering a great deal of hilarious, chaotic fun too.
Which is exactly what CarGo! does, and it does it really well too. Though you can play it alone, and it’s a perfectly fun game if you do, it truly comes alive in multiplayer.

In CarGo!, players must navigate the busy city in order to pick up goods from one location, then drive them over to another. Sometimes you might need to drop off a number of goods to be manufactured, before taking them to their final destination, as you race to make as much money as possible before time runs out. Quite often you’ll also have to contend with roadblocks or bridges that open and suddenly become unusable, for example.
It’s all rendered in a charming, Crossy Road-esque, brightly coloured, voxel aesthetic, and it’s a game which is almost immediately pick up and play (just as the game itself is based around pick up and deliver mechanics!).

CarGo! is a great deal of fun, and it offers plenty of challenges, which will likely have you shouting at the TV, or possibly at your family and friends. An added bonus is that it’s actually a very reasonably priced game, and for a four player, couch co-op experience, it offers superb value.
CarGo! is available now on Xbox consoles and Steam. Many thanks to Ultimate Games for sending me a copy for review purposes.
