The lore behind the Shard Bugs Trading Card Game (or TCG) is set up in this comic book, which introduces readers to the game’s three factions (four, if you include the unaligned Mercenaries!).
Over the course of its pages, we meet the three cosmic avatars, Luna, Mars and Sol, who are searching the universe for life forms they can influence to become their followers.
Though brief, it does a fantastic job of giving us a peek behind the curtain of the TCG’S setting, and whets the reader’s appetite for more. It also cleverly functions as a primer on the different personalities of the avatars, which factors into their play styles in the game itself.

The artwork, by ZipDraw, is beautiful, and it also offers a glimpse at the different units you’ll find populating the TCG’s factions too.
Ending with a preview of the next comic (starring Dave the Snail), Shard Bugs: The Bug-inning #1 definitely makes me want to get my hands on the cards from the upcoming TCG, and explore even more of its unique world.
Check out the official Shard Bugs TCG website for more details on the game and its product range.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day; I really appreciate you visiting and taking the time to read my content.
If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, genuinely human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages), but it seems that my work is being stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com (just in case it’s being plagiarized elsewhere, which has unfortunately been happening quite a bit recently!).

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
