The crew of Deep Space Nine are held captive on the station, leaving the two teenage boys, Jake and Nog, to find a bomb and fire it out of an airlock before it’s too late.

This is a fun little one off tale, as most of Malibu’s Deep Space Nine comics are, and it gives more of a spotlight to Jake and Nog than they were usually afforded at this stage of the show’s run.

It’s got an amusing punchline too, and though it is very lightweight, it’s definitely the kind of comic that I really miss.

These days, it’s incredibly rare to just be able to pick up a single issue and have a complete story from beginning to end, or to know exactly what’s going on without needing to read a ton of background material to make sure you’re up to speed.

Malibu’s Deep Space Nine run, while not perfect, excelled in little bite sized stories which tried not to interfere with anything important on the show, and as such even stand alone if you haven’t caught up with the entirety of the series yet (which describes me perfectly; it’s taken me over 30 years, but I finally made the effort to start watching Deep Space Nine this year, and I’m about halfway through it!).

The added bonus is that these comics tend to sell very cheaply, so they’re great for a nostalgic pick-me-up, without having to break the bank or invest in a bigger set of comics.

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
