Some companies use Free Comic Book Day to preview upcoming titles, rather than original content; that’s the case with this issue of Transformers: Worst Bot Ever, which previews not only the titular, upcoming graphic novel, but also another one too: Family Force V, which isn’t related to Transformers, but is definitely aimed at the same all-ages audience.
Worst Bot Ever is the main feature here though, and in this story we’re introduced to Ballpoint, who believes himself to be a heroic and effective Decepticon. However, he may well be a somewhat unreliable narrator of his own story…
In Family Force V, we’re introduced to a familial group of superheroes, with a Power Rangers-esque gimmick.
Both stories are really fun, and it’s definitely the case that I’m keen to read much more of poor little Ballpoint’s hilariously told story. Family Force V is entertaining enough, and it’s got some serious creative weight behind it, given that it’s written by Matt Braly, the creator of the popular and critically acclaimed animated show, Amphibia. However, it didn’t grab me in the same way that Worst Bot Ever did, though of course I’m already very familiar with many of the characters in the Transformers story, who are portrayed from a very unusual point of view here.

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
