When 24 homeless people are simultaneously attacked by 24 different people across the city, agent John Jones is called in to try and get to the bottom of what’s going on. With the 24 attackers confessing to the horrific crimes with a variety of motives and levels of remorse, there appears to be no connection between them at all, despite the crimes all using the same method, at precisely the same time as all of the others. Yet the alien passenger inside Jones may have the solution to the impossible puzzle, as well as the insight as to how the situation is about to get even worse…

Absolute Martian Manhunter continues to be the most original and audaciously stylish non-indie comic that we’ve seen for quite some time. Its artwork is a masterpiece of colour and clever use of space, negative and otherwise, and its writing continues to intrigue, with some huge developments in this issue. It’s rare to see DC pushing boundaries in this way; even though they’ve taken some chances with some of the offbeat choices in their Absolute comic line, none have been as committed to tearing up the rulebook as Absolute Martian Manhunter.

It pays off too; this is such a gloriously stylised work of art, and it remains utterly absorbing even when its subject matter could feel tasteless or unpalatable if it was handled in a more conventional way.

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
