The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been captured, caged and are in…court? That’s right, the Turtles are accused of murder, amongst many other crimes, and the sinister DA Hale is using his heightened powers of persuasion to prosecute the four siblings. With Hale convincing the Judge and the jury, and Donnie doing a terrible job of defending himself and his brothers, how will they get out of this one?

This issue mostly revolves around the court case, and as such has a much less frenetic pace than previous issues in the series. It’s far less showy for artist Juan Ferreyra; despite some solid work here (and there are still a few fight scenes), it does feel like he’s more at home with the more action packed style that the comic has been employing so far.

That said, writer Jason Aaron is absolutely smashing it with this series so far; it’s hugely compelling, and the drip feed of information on DA Hale is intriguing, as well as somewhat terrifying. The tension in the court case is brilliantly ratcheted up too.

It all leads to a thrilling cliffhanger, and the next issue should be a very exciting one indeed, continuing what’s been a near flawless run so far.

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
