Megatron is back and in control, leading the Decepticons on an attack against the Autobots, with some superior firepower on his side. Optimus Prime is having some equipment difficulties, leading to a devastating loss for the Autobots.
Oh man, where to start with this issue? Everything felt disjointed and the action was confusing; a problem which has only reared its head a few times over the course of this comic’s run so far.
It felt incredibly rushed, as if certain panels were missing here and there, leading to gaps in the narrative that really shouldn’t have been overlooked. There was also a character death that came out of nowhere and after the character in question had only just been introduced; why do that? It felt pretty meaningless, and has wasted that character entirely.
I get that Megatron is being sold as a truly devastating threat, and the Autobots are having to fight back against serious odds, but everything here just felt off, for whatever reason.
With Daniel Warren Johnson wrapping up his run over the next few issues and Robert Kirkman taking over on writing duties when he leaves, I’m afraid I don’t have high hopes for this current incarnation of Transformers, particularly given how Kirkman has dropped the ball on Void Rivals after a promising start.
We shall see, I guess, but Transformers seems to be squandering a lot of the goodwill it had recently built up, and it’s a real shame.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
