Who is Greg, and why does he wear a hood? In issue zero of Greg’s self-titled comic book series, you’ll find out.
With the sub-title ‘The Delivery Room Massacre’, you know this ain’t going to be an experience that’s subtle, or in any way restrained. Issue zero tells the story of where Greg comes from, and of what happens to everyone who gets a glimpse of his dangerously handsome visage.
It’s unpredictable, unashamedly silly fun. Greg #0 is the kind of tasteless, direct-to-video gorefest you can only get from indie creators; a bite-sized, blood-soaked, kitsch extravaganza that’d make John Waters turn neon green with envy.
The presumably pseudonymous Duke Electric wore many hats in the creation of Greg #0; in fact, it’s fair to say that he wore all of the hats, given that he’s responsible for all of the writing and the off-kilter art, with its fully non-conforming layouts. Well, the editing was handled by the wearer of the editing hat, Sally Cinnamon, but Electric was on the case for everything else.
As brief as it is, Greg #0 is subversive and inventive stuff, setting up the main series with not just unique page layouts or different aesthetics, but also classified style ads, newspaper clippings and a cool, post-delivery room look at Greg’s life, many years later.
One thing’s for sure: I can’t wait to catch up with Greg and his dangerous handsomeness when the series properly kicks off. If you don’t hear from me again at that point, you’ll know I caught a glimpse under the hood.
You can buy Greg #0 from Studio Comix. Many thanks to Duke Electric for sending me a copy of Greg #0 for review purposes.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
