Following the death of a police officer that she’s been held responsible for, Chloe is on the run with the GhostBox. Inside the box itself, her sister is being shown such sights, but not everyone may be what they seem within the universe the box contains.
Despite the long sequences of exposition in this issue, it manages to remain very entertaining, and there’s plenty of suspense in both the real world, and the events unfolding inside the box. There’s a really neat and unsettling twist, for one thing, and writer Mike Carey delivers it in a very shocking way, assisted very capably by Pablo Raimondi’s art.
I’m really enjoying GhostBox, and it’s a bit of a shame that it’s flown so far under the radar, which has been the case for so many Comixology Originals, particularly in the wake of Amazon gutting the dedicated app and store. Though they do still seem to be funding the Comixology Originals program, their publicity for it, as well as their handling of comics in general, has been nothing short of shockingly inept, and titles such as GhostBox have been unfortunately caught up in a situation entirely of the massive retailer’s own making.
Amazon’s closure of Comixology was a weird and unnecessary act of self harm when they had the best comics reading app in the world at their disposal, and frankly it’s a wonder to discover something like GhostBox despite Amazon’s best efforts to hide it, and all of the other comics they find themselves in control of.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
