Three flavours of ice cream. Three different stories. All unfolding simultaneously, mostly wordlessly, with vastly different outcomes for the comic’s temporary protagonist. Just another day in suburbia for the Ice Cream Man.

Despite the creativity and sometimes experimental nature of Ice Cream Man up to this point, it really feels like this issue is the one that truly knocks it out of the park. Each story is told with a different tone depending on the ice cream flavour it represents, and though each one plays out very differently, it doesn’t exactly work out for our poor, doomed character in any of them.

Along the way, there are plenty of small details and character appearances to find, and if you pay attention you’ll see some familiar faces.

This issue truly pushes the series to lofty artistic heights, with its experimental format, amazing use of colour and its triple dipped tales of woe. Excellent stuff, but remind me to never ask for the neapolitan flavour again.

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
