Vent, the ZX era Mega Man finally gets revenge on the bot who killed his mother, but there’s no time to celebrate. Another nefarious bad guy is out to get his hands on the transformative Biometals, and he doesn’t care who gets destroyed along the way. Can Vent save the day, and his friends in the process?
These Mega Man comics aren’t going to win any awards for their depth, but as is the case with just about all comics from Udon, the artwork is beautifully done, the passion for the source material is clear, and the action sequences are superb.
The Mega Man line, even though it’s fallen prey to Udon’s current, needlessly confusing tactic of launching each part of the story as a new #1 (see also: the current Darkstalkers x Street Fighter comics), has at least been able to make sure its titles can be read mostly as standalone adventures thus far. The ongoing narrative threads are minor and usually teased in just a scene, or a panel or two, making them pretty accessible if you’re a fan of a particular incarnation of Mega Man.
In any case, Mega Man ZX Timelines #1 is another fun, if sadly brief, read, and it’s as beautifully produced as you’d expect from the creators at Udon.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
