When I reviewed the original version of Flufftopia in 2020, I discovered that it’s worth pushing past your prejudices and preconceptions, because you never know what you might discover.
On the surface, Flufftopia is a clicker game. You click a piggy bank, your coins and available workers go up, and you assign those workers to buildings, which produce more coins, for you to add more buildings. And so on.
That’s the core gameplay loop, such as it is. A character above the piggy bank gives you background information and tips on progressing in Flufftopia, but you’ll essentially be clicking on different parts of the screen, over and over again.

It’s a mindless but somehow compelling experience, as you’ll fully understand if you’ve played a clicker game before. There’s something almost hypnotically engaging, with little brain power required, in endlessly clicking away at different parts of the screen.
That’s clicker games for you, and that’s Flufftopia. Until it’s something more.

What do I mean by that? Well, that’s something you’ll have to discover for yourself. Suffice to say that the seemingly endless clicking you do isn’t, in fact, something you’ll be doing ad infinitum.
And what eventually happens, masterfully foreshadowed as it is by something that happens early on, is well worth sticking around for. Or should that be clicking around for? Ha.
It’s clever, subversive and very well implemented. The Fluffmazing Edition upgrades the aesthetics of the original for an even more appealing experience (with some charmingly cute character design), as well as expanding the content so there’s much more to discover.

Creator Daniel da Silva has done a great job with Flufftopia: Fluffmazing Edition. With multiple endings, along with the many audio, visual and content additions, it’s well worth your time even if you’ve visited Flufftopia before.
Flufftopia: Fluffmazing Edition is now available on Steam. I’m pleased to report that it works really nicely on the Steam Deck too, and found that to be an ideal way to discover the game’s surprising secrets!
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
