Though games in the simulator genre used to be pretty niche affairs, in recent years they’ve seen a surge of popularity. The Switch seems to be a natural home for simulator titles specifically based around being a mechanic too, with the availability of touch screen controls and often undemanding technical requirements making Nintendo’s console a great choice for the genre.

Polish indie game publisher Pineapple Works have just released their own entry into this specific genre on the Switch – Biker Garage: Mechanic Simulator, which pretty much delivers everything you’d expect of a game of this nature. Starting your journey as the humble owner of a small home workshop, you’ll complete customer requests to fix and customise their motorbikes, but you can also create your own machine. You’ll be able to find a bike at the junkyard or buy it from a shop – then customise it from a selection of hundreds of different parts.

You can also expand your business (and the garage you work from), unlocking lots of new features along the way – including an auction system, improved skills and even racing on a 1/4 mile track too. The ultimate aim is to become the best mechanic you can be – with lots of happy customers helped out along the way!

It all looks like very tactile, pleasingly therapeutic fun for gamers looking for something a little different on their Switch without actually getting their hands dirty; though there are plenty of mechanics-based simulators already available, Biker Garage: Mechanic Simulator looks to be one of the most fully-featured and slickly produced titles in the genre so far.

Biker Garage: Mechanic Simulator is now available for Nintendo Switch via the US or EU/Aus eShop.
