Milliken and Mae find other survivors beyond the Trench – but are they friendly? Are they even from the Trench? And why don’t they believe in the Snowman, who has proven himself to be very real – and very deadly – indeed?

Jeff Lemire and Jock’s series continues to be a hugely compelling read; the deadly world that the siblings have just escaped from may well have been safer than the new one they’ve discovered – but with exposition and backstory still being given to us at a measured rate, there’s still an awful lot of questions to be answered with regards to the history of the Trench and beyond.

It’s yet to put a foot wrong; Lemire has crafted a compellingly mysterious and impenetrable world, with Jock’s art being a brilliant visualisation of Lemire’s story and concepts. Snow Angels really is a fantastic read so far; let’s hope it can keep up the same level of quality in the rest of its issues.
