The final GI Joe IDW story arc continues, with the silly shenanigans involving a resurrected clone of Genghis Khan and a fake casino resort on Cobra Island developing even further.
It’s all very campy and incredibly daft, which I’m still hugely disappointed with.
Don’t get me wrong; camp definitely has it’s place in GI Joe; I just didn’t expect the IDW saga to go out on such a bizarrely silly note.
It still feels as if long time Joe writer Larry Hama is either throwing his toys out of the pram or deliberately sabotaging the series; the third option, of course, is that I’m just being extremely grumpy.
That’s perfectly possible. It’s just a shame to not only see IDW losing the Hasbro licenses that they’ve done so brilliantly with, but also to see the excellent GI Joe series end in a way that doesn’t yet feel fitting.
