There’s no getting around it; the last few issues of Blade haven’t been the greatest.

After a very strong start to the series, it’s kind of just floundered once the big evil, the Adana, ‘won’.

Last issue, Blade went through an extended training montage with Dracula; this time, it’s a grim, gory rescue mission with the Hulk.

It just feels like a side quest with an almost unnecessary guest star.

Though it’s not bad, per se, it’s far from the heady heights of the first five issues of the series.

It seems like we might be getting back on track as of the next issue; usual series artist Elena Casagrande is also returning, which will be helpful too.
