I first encountered Lab Chaos on Android over four years ago, and found it to be “a thoughtfully designed, fun and challenging platformer with some excellent, varied mechanics and a ton of content.”
When I reviewed the Steam version last year, I said that it was “a tough, but fair, platforming challenge, with a wealth of great ideas and borderline sadistic, physics-based level design.”
It’s an easy game to enjoy and play, but Lab Chaos was always tricky to master. It straddled the line between modern gameplay and old school challenge beautifully.
And now, if you happened to master the game’s World 1 (spoiler: I totally didn’t), you can now test your skills with the newly added World 2, the trailer for which is below.
This update brings 26 new levels to the game, with many of them being larger and (somehow, given how sadistically designed the original stages were) more dangerous too.
New game mechanics and fresh combinations of classic mechanics (that’ll be familiar to you from playing the original release) are also part of the expansive World 2 Update, which is the perfect excuse to dust off your little ball of goo and head back into the lab!
A word of warning, however: you’ll need to have collected at least 60 stars in the first world to access the new content, so you’d better get rolling and jumping, right?
