You’ve possibly seen me waxing lyrical not just about Capcom’s 1989 arcade title, Final Fight, which is a game I’ve adored ever since it was released, but also about UDON’s still-in-progress comic book adaptation of the video game. If you haven’t, here’s my review of the first issue!
And now you can download the first issue officially from the publishers, UDON Studios, as a PDF, entirely for free. Just click here!
Sure, it’s not as tactile as actually having the gloriously campy action of the comic book in your hands, but if you want to at least give it a shot and see why it’s the perfect adaptation of the video game, it’s an excellent option.
I’ve long been a huge fan of UDON’s comics, and their Capcom video game adaptations in particular. They’re unashamedly campy, gorgeously illustrated and action packed exercises in adapting material that’s hardly built to sustain coherent stories, put together with an obvious love for the games.
Hyper stylised, unpretentious fun is always good in my book, and now you can check out the opening chapter of Final Fight at no cost at all. Cheaper than playing the original arcade game, even! Can’t say fairer than that, can you?
