Doctor Fellowes and his daughter Abigail are stranded in the realm of Evermore; a dangerous realm filled with all manner of mythical creatures and characters from storybooks, fairy tales and legends.

Surviving Wonderland, they make their way to Sleepy Hollow, the human capital city – but the town is governed duplicitously by Ichabod Crane, whose son Jack is about to set off a chain reaction that will threaten the lives of all of the inhabitants of Evermore; human, beast and monster alike.

I was really impressed with the world building in this second volume of Evermore, as well as how so many disparate characters in its sprawling cast are brought together from such a wide range of different literary sources.

Though the motivations of a few characters aren’t entirely clear on occasion, for the most part the political power struggles, quests for revenge and the violent conflicts that ensue are very well handled. Everything builds to a Grand Guignol climax, with many characters meeting violent, gory ends.

There’s a lot to take in, so it’s well worth familiarising yourself with the setting and characters by checking out the first volume of Evermore, which you can find here.

With Aleksandar Bozic’s expressive art, distinctive characters (whether they be human or otherwise) and a clear storytelling style, Gamon’s epic story gets the visual treatment it deserves, and it’s a comic I struggled to put down once it’d drawn me in.

In short, Evermore: Sleepy Hollow is an impressively epic tale from Gamon and artist Bozic, and one that’s well worth checking out.

Evermore: Sleepy Hollow will be available from May 25th, 2025, with a cover price of $19.99.

  1. Well, I learned a new term that I honestly had never heard before: Grand Guignol. Fascinating and pretty much my jam.
