A very bad man tries to abduct a little girl and gets what he deserves when she turns out to be more than meets the eye. When Boone and Lori happen upon her and the mess she’s made, the girl, Tater, recognises Boone as the saviour of the Night Breed, and takes them to meet a very strange old woman. Meanwhile, the rogue group of Night Breed continue their blasphemous journey, and it seems that they’re not even safe from each other…

There’s a few weird missteps in this issue that make it a bit of a frustrating read. Characters appearing out of nowhere (only to be instantly killed off, in one specific instance), acting strangely or being resurrected with no explanation, as well as the art being inconsistent and lacking clarity at times too.

It’s still an intriguing way of following the movie’s narrative; for example, with the Night Breed’s deity Baphomet’s demise, why wouldn’t there be a certain number of their people who no longer fear any retribution for breaking their commandments? It’s just a shame that it seems to have been edited in a very slapdash way, as well as there being the whole ‘trying too hard to be edgy’ thing that was so common in mature readers comics in the 90s. Though Clive Barker himself frequently pushed boundaries of violent and sexual content way past what the contemporary norms were, in many cases, it always felt as if there was more there than just the desire to shock; the same can’t be said for several sequences in Night Breed #6.

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!
