The latest DLC for Zen’s Pinball FX VR platform is here. Fans of Lara Croft rejoice, as not only can you get two tables based on Tomb Raider for your virtual arcade, but you can also get a massive statue of the beloved adventurer too!

The least showy of the two tables, Secrets of Croft Manor, has an oddly chilled out vibe for a pinball table, with a great classical soundtrack and an intricate table layout, featuring tons of detail from the stately home it represents. There’s lots of cool touches, but I did find a few of the mini games that unfold on its animated, colour screen to be a little bit obtuse.

A simpler layout and more vibrantly colourful experience awaits in the Adventures of Lara Croft table, which is a much more immediately action packed game too. Like Secrets of Croft Manor, it has a nicely animated, full colour screen which makes both of these tables feel much more modern in their design than, say, the classic tables you’ll find in the Williams Pinball DLC packs.
That’s unsurprising, given that those tables are from the late 80s and 90s, but also they’re all generally pretty timeless designs which are endlessly enjoyable to play.

Perhaps it’s the lack of familiarity with Zen-designed, original tables, but they don’t hold the same appeal to me as the licensed, real world tables you can get your hands on in Pinball FX VR. Still, these Tomb Raider tables showcase Zen’s mastery of pinball machine design, but they’re also full of fan service and great callbacks to the Tomb Raider games.
They also look great in the ever expanding rooms of your arcade in Pinball FX VR! Though they’re both likely to hold more appeal to fans of the Tomb Raider series in general, these are two more immersive, well-designed tables (with excellent soundtracks too) to add to your collection. Note that these tables are also available on other, traditional gaming platforms – Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and PC; I played it on Meta Quest 3, and it’s the best way to play to play pinball if you can’t get to a real arcade!
