Evercade Cartridge Images: Blaze

Though we already knew about the 48th cartridge for the Evercade’s main, console-based range (the highly anticipated Rare Collection 1), two more collections have now been announced for November 2025.

Both Activision Collection 1 (Evercade Cartridge 47) and Llamasoft Collection 1 (Evercade Home Computer Cartridge 10) go much further back in history than many of the more recent Evercade releases, taking players back to the early and mid-80s for the vast majority of the games on each.

Activision Collection 1 is an excellent collection, of several Atari 2600 titles, from the first ever third party console game publisher.

Though there are a couple of disappointing omissions (no H.E.R.O., Keystone Kapers or Robot Tank, for example), the games included are generally excellent (especially the still fantastic Pitfall!), even if they may be a tad too simplistic and dated for contemporary gamers. It’s worth noting that even though those games I’ve mentioned and others are missing, it’s perfectly possible that a further Activision Collection may rectify that!

The 15 games you’ll find on the Activision Collection 1 are as follows: Beamrider, Crackpots, Demon Attack, Enduro, Fishing Derby, Freeway, Grand Prix, Megamania, Pitfall!, Private Eye, River Raid, Sky Jinks, Space Shuttle, Starmaster and Tennis. There’s genuine classics and some hidden gems there (though goodness knows how they’ll make Space Shuttle work with the Evercade’s controls), and having a large, eclectic selection of 15 games feels like a nice throwback to the early days of the Evercade too.

Speaking of large game collections, Llamasoft Collection 1 brings an astonishing 27 of cult coder Jeff Minter’s titles to the Evercade. Well, in theory anyway; there are numerous games here which appear multiple times, thanks to the significant differences between the various computer versions of each title.

It’s an impressively deep dive into Llamasoft history though, with VIC-20 games, ZX Spectrum titles and C64 games too, as well as a few from Atari’s ST computer. Gridrunner, Attack of the Mutant Camels, Llamatron 2112 and many, many more games are all on this collection.

Rare Collection 1, Activision Collection 1 and Llamasoft Collection 1 are all due for release in November 2025. You can pre-order them as a bundle from Funstock, or individually from Amazon.
