Fans of physical media, rejoice despair! Three more Evercade cartridges are entering Legacy status, which means that they’ll be unavailable to purchase once current stock is sold.
The three cartridges are: Irem Arcade 1, Intellivision Collection 1 and Intellivision Collection 2. Irem Arcade 1 is an absolutely essential cartridge for fans of classic arcade games, in my opinion, but I could take or leave both of the Intellivision Collections. I had zero experience with, and therefore nostalgia for, the Intellivision as a kid, and the console’s unique controls have been awkwardly implemented on the Evercade in many cases.
Still, it’s a shame to see any cartridge disappear from the Evercade’s library, particularly as Blaze number their cartridge releases; it seems that current and future Evercade fans will increasingly have to put up with gaps in their collection, or pay extortionate prices for cartridges on the secondary market.
It’s an unfortunate reality of the kinds of licensing deals that Blaze are making with various rights holders in order to make these cartridges available, but that doesn’t make the situation any less frustrating or disappointing for the consumer and Evercade collectors who may arrive late to the party.
The good news is that you have until March 2026 before these enter Legacy status, and it’ll more than likely be a little while before these cartridges disappear entirely from the supplier and their official retail partners, but if you want to maintain a complete collection, or if you have any intention of picking these titles up in the future, you’d be better off doing so sooner rather than later!
You can buy Irem Arcade 1, Intellivision Collection 1 and Intellivision Collection 2 from Amazon.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
