In preparation for my reviews of Titan’s Conan the Barbarian series, it became apparent that this 2023 Free Comic Book Day title was an essential prelude to the ongoing saga.

This issue gives readers a great look at a young Conan making the decision to leave Cimmeria in order to seek his fortune.

With a big, violent action scene and a great splash page to introduce readers to the Hyborian Age’s realms, this is the perfect lead-in to Titan’s Conan the Barbarian #1.

Of course, with Marvel having been the most famous and longest running publisher of Conan comics, fans were understandably cautious about how Titan Comics would handle the infamous barbarian.

They needn’t have worried. As I’ve discovered in my reading of the bigger, black and white reboot of The Savage Sword of Conan, the character is in very good hands indeed.

There’s a lot of fan pleasing elements to the Titan Conan comics, and I’m looking forward to catching up with them over the coming months.

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
