Writer Rory McConville continues to deliver with this gore-soaked, action-packed issue, but unfortunately Pablo de Bonis falters a little in terms of clarifity with the art. With so much happening at once, it can become difficult to tell who’s who, and what’s going on, but that’s not to say that there aren’t impressive moments of artistry here.

In particular, the gore is truly dialled up to eleven, with some very explicit dismembering happening front and centre. Sonja doesn’t hold back, and  she beautifully demonstrates why she’s known as the She-Devil With A Sword at multiple points here.

Despite a few issues with the art, the pacing and twists here are truly impressive, and this is already shaping up to be a fantastic run for Red Sonja. I’m glad this is one of the first Red Sonja series I’ve been on board with since the beginning!
