Our feline protagonists make their way to apparent safety, as they discover a closed pet store which seems very secure from the infected animals outside. Yet the animal community they find in Pet City has its own rules, a strict hierarchy and some very, very dark secrets…

This volume is, like the ones before it, an unbelievably compelling page turner. The tension and dread that builds inside Pet City is palpable, and it pays off, once again, with true, shocking horror.

I think the only major misstep for me is how anthropomorphically the sexual elements are handled. For a series which repeatedly does such a great job of making its animals talk to each other while still feeling like animals, it’s a little bit of a disappointment.

That aside, the drama that element creates is fantastic, and along with many other threads that are brought into the mix here, Feral remains an unmissable series.
