The female Cenobite with the open neck wound, part of Pinhead’s order, is reborn and rebuilt by the Engineer. As her most visible wound is reopened, she stops the Engineer from completing his task and is banished further down into the depths, with the still-forming Cenobites who aren’t yet ready to ascend. And the Engineer may have unwittingly created an opportunity for a new order to arise…
This is the strongest one-shot in the Hellraiser: Resurrections series so far. It dives deep into Clive Barker’s lore, and though it may be bringing new elements to the table, it’s all very Barker-esque in its style and execution.
The suggestively shaped wounds, the extreme body modification and the fleshy, writhing things…it’s all concerned with the same things that Barker seems to be, especially in terms of the imagery.
The female writer/artist combination of Tini Howard and Jenna Cha give this story a welcome feminist slant, and the ending is absolutely superb. I’m very much looking forward to seeing how the reborn female Cenobite becomes a part of the ongoing narrative, when Boom!’s new Hellraiser series launches.
Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.
Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.
Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!
All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
