Another fairly unnecessary addition to the War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, this one-off issue featuring the droid and alien Bounty Hunter team 4-LOM and Zuckuss catches us up on where poor, lonely Zuckuss finds himself after losing 4-LOM – as well as how a bounty from their past is coming back to haunt them in a big way…

Like many of the stories in the crossover so far, it’s a fairly well put-together tale with the odd familiar face popping up – competently written with some nice art. There’s even a neat twist towards the end that’s pretty unforeseen too.

The big problem is that it just feels so surplus to requirements in terms of the crossover’s story. Though massively hyped as a big, untold part of the Star Wars saga, War of the Bounty Hunters has been incredibly uneventful, with just a few minor revelations occurring in a surprisingly small number of scenes (it’s such a relief that we have moved on from that damn Crimson Dawn auction/social gathering at last though).

If you’re a fan of this odd couple Bounty Hunter pairing (and I honestly don’t know any Star Wars fans who are), then this is for you. Otherwise, it’s completely inessential and rather pointless, in all honesty. Like most of the crossover’s tie-in issues, this one feels like a total cash-in, with no bearing on the overall plot of the crossover and little, if any, impact on the more important characters who are involved in the story. As a standalone story in its own right, it’s fine – and it does give the two titular characters a little bit of depth – but in a universe full of interesting characters, these two don’t feel all that, well…interesting.
