A little over a month ago, I posted my 1000th article on this very blog. Here’s the link to that particular post!

Now, that also marked 1000 days in a row that I’d posted; since the beginning of my blog, I hadn’t missed a single day of writing and posting at all. Due to some weird quirk (I’m not sure what, but have a feeling that time differences may play a part) in the way that WordPress tracked my daily streaks, it didn’t actually register a full 1000 day streak at that point.

So, being the stubborn and determined individual that I am, I continued posting on a daily basis just to get that official notification that I’d posted for 1000 days in a row.

That happened yesterday, as you can see from the accompanying image. So I’ve finally reached that milestone and now I have close friends urging me to take a break, even if it’s a brief one.

You know, I did consider it. I thought perhaps that I wouldn’t post today, having cleared that particular milestone. And yet, hear I am with another post just to preserve that achievement properly.

Who knows? I may now drop down to a slightly less intense writing schedule, which would make sense because, since I started that 1000 day streak, things have changed somewhat and I now have semi-regular writing work coming through outside of the blog; it’d certainly be easier to get through that without also worrying about writing the blog too.

Then again, you may just see me back here again tomorrow with more of whatever happens to be going through my head at that particular time. Whenever I return and whenever you get a chance to come back and read my work, I cannot thank you enough for being here and reading my writing. It truly means the world to me; 1000 days ago, I’d barely published any more than a handful of articles in my entire life – and now things have completely changed for me in that regard.

For that, I must thank those of you who read my stuff. Even if I don’t know you; if we’ve never interacted or you have never commented, I see the numbers and that’s what keeps me going. That’s what keeps me pushing towards my dream of writing full time, which I’ve had since I was a kid. You’re a big part of that, wherever and whoever you are.

Thank you for your part in helping me to keep pushing towards fulfilling the dream of an oddball kid who wasn’t supposed to amount to anything.

Enjoyed what you’ve read? Want to support my blog? There’s no pressure of course, but every penny helps to keep this site running, as I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages).

However, I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Thank you so much!

Help support me here!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!

  1. A thousand days in a row! That’s commitment right there. Don’t think you should listen to your friends though. They mean well, but you’re growing beyond average, and that requires being different from everyday people. Keep on keeping on, I say!
