Chuck Frenzy has made a pact with dark powers to keep hold of his Championship belt – and his lust for power has led him to take some seriously grim actions. Yet the dark magic at work always comes with a price – and the price for his success is about to be paid in full.
Yet again, it’s pretty astonishing just how blood-and-gore soaked this Macbeth meets 80s pro wrestling tale is – and just how gripping it is too.
Having now read the entire run, I can recommend The Crimson Cage very highly – though be warned, you need to have a pretty strong stomach for the grapihic imagery and subject matter it contains. It really does take us on a dark, gruesome ride through what’s normally a fun world of musclebound heroes and villains – there’s no such light-heartedness here. The Crimson Cage is pretty bleak, but I’ve been riveted to every crimson page (and there’s a lot of those!) from beginning to end.
