The fourth issue of Do A Powerbomb sees the nefarious Necroton’s Deathlyfe Tag Team Tournament well underway. Lona and Cobrasun aren’t the only humans fighting for a shot at resurrecting a loved one, however. With wrestling being dangerously real on every planet except Earth, what happens when the stakes are raised and genuine tragedy strikes?

Daniel Warren Johnson’s writing and art continues to impress as the series goes on; sometimes a comic just speaks to the reader on just about every level and for me, Do A Powerbomb is that kind of comic.

It’s beautifully illustrated and very well written, with a genuinely deep grasp of the drama that can unfold within – and just outside – a wrestling ring.

It’s a pretty breathlessly action-packed issue this time around, with not a moment to spare as characters engage in montages before being flung around the ring amid the intensifying drama.

As I’ve mentioned before, for wrestling fans this comic is an absolute no-brainer, but at it’s core, Do A Powerbomb is just a genuinely well told and dramatic sci-fi/fantasy saga, with some stunning, colourful art – so being interested in wrestling isn’t a prerequisite; it’s merely a bonus if you are.
