Arriving in 2022, retro-inspired 2D beat ’em up Jitsu Squad is looking incredibly promising. Up to four players can simultaneously take on hordes of bad guys using massive combos and impressive super moves, with a selection of bizarre and diverse, anthropomorphic, playable characters to choose from.
Jitsu Squad has a beautiful cartoon aesthetic with a real hand drawn feel. Johnny Gioeli – the singer with Crush 40 who’s also known for his Sonic the Hedgehog music – provides the game’s tunes.
Two player tag team mode is one of the unique features that sets Jitsu Squad apart from similar titles – and it sees players each controlling a team of two fighters.
Jitsu Squad is releasing on the 9th of December for Switch, PS4 and PS5, with news on the Xbox version to follow soon.
