Private Investigator Jan Westron has been roped in to help with the disappearance of a young girl. Haunted by a similar case from his teenage years, Westron is racing against time to avoid the tragedy that occurred when he was 15.

Things take a seriously dark and disturbing turn in this second issue of Westron, following on from last year’s opening chapter. In fairness, issue #1 wasn’t exactly all sunshine and roses, but things really do get pretty grim here, particularly as we accelerate towards the climax, with grim and graphic revelations building to the cliffhanger.

The variations in art style from the first issue, which occur when the story switches between Westron’s past and present, are also employed here. They’re very effective too; the muted, naturalistic style of the present giving way to the heightened, luridly coloured and more caricatured style of the flashbacks.

Though densely written, the story is very gripping, making good use of its Euro-noir style and Polish folklore. However, without venturing into spoiler territory, but the darker subject matter, particularly the more realistic elements, may be a little distasteful and disturbing for readers of a more sensitive disposition. So do be warned: Westron is not a comic for the faint of heart.

Westron #2’s Kickstarter campaign is launching on June 1st, 2026, and you’ll be able to pledge for issue 1 as well as getting your hands on the second issue. You can sign up to be notified of the campaign’s launch here.

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
