Taking the total of unlockable secret games to eight, you can now add another game to your Evercade EXP for the sum of zero pounds (or dollars, or whatever currency you intend to not use) – as long as you’ve updated to the latest firmware.
Spoilers follow, naturally – so if you don’t want to know how to open up hidden games number seven and eight on your Evercade EXP, click elsewhere immediately.
What Are Hidden Games Number 7 and 8 on the Evercade EXP?
The seventh and eighth games to be added to the Evercade EXP’s Hidden Games menu are Fairy Fire – Defender of the Fairies and The Lost Mines.
Fairy Fire is a Defender-esque, seriously challenging retro shooter and The Lost Mines is a great, old school maze game with some excellent, modern design sensibilities.
How to Unlock the 7th and 8th Hidden Games on Evercade EXP?
One is unlocked using the button press combination method – and the other can be found using a secret code.
For Fairy Fire, ensure you have no cartridge in the Evercade EXP’s slot. Then simply press the Menu button ten times on the cartridge screen (which will show ‘NO CARTRIDGE INSERTED…’). This will unlock your new game!
For game eight, head to the ‘Secret’ option on the Evercade EXP’s Settings menu. When prompted, enter the word BLOP using the on screen keyboard – and you’ll immediately unlock The Lost Mines.
What other Hidden Games can I unlock on my Evercade EXP?
I’ve covered this before – and you’ll find Fairy Fire and The Lost Mines, as well as instructions on how to unlock all other Hidden Games, in my Hidden Games for Evercade EXP list, right here.
Can I Unlock Fairy Fire and The Lost Mines on my Evercade VS?
Fairy Fire was already available on the Evercade VS and can be unlocked using the same method used to unlock it on the Evercade EXP (the menu button needs to be pressed 10 times on the main screen, with no cartridge inserted).
However, The Lost Mines was not previously available.
Simply head to the Secret menu on your VS and use the same code as you would on the EXP: type in the word BLOP using the on screen keyboard and it’ll automatically add to your list of 9 Hidden Games on the VS.
What other Hidden Games can I unlock on the Evercade VS?
This is covered in my list of secrets for the Evercade VS, which you can find here.
