I had drifted out of using my Meta Quest 2 headset for a while, but trust Synth Riders to draw me back in.
I couldn’t resist the lure of playing through the brilliant rhythm action, beat matching game with an 80s soundtrack, and that’s exactly what this latest DLC song pack is.
Though you can buy songs individually, you do get the collection cheaper if you buy it as a bundle, and in fairness it’s well worth paying for them all.
Included are some 80s classics and, in fairness, a few of them are cheesy. Fun, yes, but undeniably cheesy.
Isn’t that exactly what you want, though? If you want to take your Synth Riders a bit more seriously, there’s plenty of other song choices for you, already on the soundtrack!
Anyway, included here are the songs as follows:
- Take On Me – a-ha
- Whip It – DEVO
- We Built This City – Starship
- Sussudio – Phil Collins
- New Sensation – INXS
They’re all great fun to play; the star of the show for me, and it was always going to be, is Take On Me; it’s a song that I’ll love until the end of time, and just never, ever gets old.
There’s also an Endless Café stage to play through, which brings an authentically 80s aesthetic to the game when you’re playing these songs, or any other, if you fancy changing from the usual Tron-style, cyberpunk ambience in the other stages of Synth Riders.
Anyway, if you have Synth Riders and you want some catchy 80s tunes to dance and play along to, you’re no doubt not waiting for my review. This is the DLC for you.
