Olivia and Ryan continue their investigation of Matthew Dunn’s murder, which even after the events revealed in issue one, seems more than justified. As brutal as it was, the bastard definitely had it coming. Yet the plot is thickening even further, as the pair question another wife and even Dunn’s eldest son. What other secrets does the compound hold?

It’s kind of odd that the cliffhanger of the first issue doesn’t really get picked up on here, but there’s more than enough going on that I didn’t even notice until after I’d reached the end of issue 2.

And boy, does this end on one hell of a cliffhanger too, which is masterfully built up to. Zoe Tunnel’s script is superb, but unfortunately the art in this issue is incredibly disappointing.

It feels very inconsistent and even amateurish in places, with facial expressions in particular being very shoddy and sometimes very out-of-place in how they’re depicted.

Still, the overall story is so strong, with the increased page count allowing for plenty of events to unfold, that the art doesn’t hamper the experience too much.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how this excellent, very timely tale of religious and patriarchal control plays out in the concluding issue.

Hi! I’m Jason, and I write for midlifegamergeek.com, every single day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human created content (which has never been plagiarised or otherwise copied from the hard work of other writers), you can donate and help me to keep this site running.

Not only do I earn no income from my writing here (though I may earn small fees from affiliate links posted on my pages; as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work has, at times, been stolen and re-used by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure of course, but I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or PayPal.

Any donations are truly appreciated – and I also appreciate you taking the time to read my articles. Remember: this whole article was by Jason Brown, and appeared on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Help support me here!

All donations are gratefully received and will help me keep the lights on here – as well as help to keep my writing dream alive! Please be aware though: there’s no pressure. I just hope you’ve enjoyed reading my article!
