Though regular readers of my blog will know that I usually write reviews, previews and retrospectives, today I wanted to do something a little different. I’ve been checking out an indie game called Randy’s Camera, which is currently live and seeking funding on Kickstarter.
Randy’s Camera is a 2D platformer with some original mechanics, based around the main character’s magic camera. A substantial demo is available here, for PC and Android devices (stretch goals for the project are looking to add further platforms, including iOS and Switch).
Though the unusual mechanics can lead to some confusion at first – even in the tutorial – feedback is being welcomed by the developer and I’m assured that any issues encountered are being dealt with. It’s a lovely looking game with excellent pixel art (by the developer’s partner!). There’s more work to be done in getting the game ready for release but it shows great promise even at this early stage.
Feel free to check out the demo; if you enjoy the game, you can back it on Kickstarter by following this link. If you’d like to follow the developer, you can do so on Twitter here. Thanks, as ever, for reading!
If you’ve enjoyed reading this – or any of my other content – it’d be much appreciated if you’re able to share this article via social media. I’d also be forever grateful if you’re able to support me via: Ko-Fi.com/geekmid – which would assist me in writing even more content just like this. Above all else though, thanks for reading – I truly appreciate it!
