The spookiness doesn’t have to stop just because Halloween has come and gone, right? The nights are longer and darker, the air is cold and damp – surely it’s the perfect time to scare yourself silly with some more comic book horror…

And here we have this year’s Misty & Scream Special (Misty taking top billing from Scream since Rebellion first paired the spooky girls comic with the boys horror title in 2017). It’s another excellent collection of dark, scary stories with the high production values and great artwork that we’ve come to expect from Rebellion. Their great handling of classic characters and stories – The Dracula File and Black Max, as two examples – mean that the strips don’t feel in the slightest bit old fashioned and there’s some great original strips in here too (including a scary clown tale – one for all you coulrophobes to stay away from).

It’s got a beautifully painted cover by Andrea Bulgarelli, as you can see. Though it feels a little thin in comparison to other specials that Rebellion have released this year, it’s priced accordingly and is a welcome return for the spooky hosts – Scream’s Ghastly McNasty and Misty herself – and their tales of terror.
