Having not expected to enjoy this crossover, I was a bit late to the party with My Little Pony/Transformers. I’m glad I finally gave it a chance, however, as you’ll know if you’ve read my reviews of the first three issues.

The final issue gives us another two stories; the first of which features Applejack – and some serious backup – against the Insecticons, in a showdown vaguely (and in a much much more family friendly way) reminiscent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s fallen heroes showing up in Avengers: Endgame. The second story wraps the crossover up entirely with a big scale final battle and a journey back home for the robotic heroes and villains.

There’s a few panels of art here that felt quite rushed, but on the whole it’s a well illustrated, beautifully colourful issue – as has become the norm. The more cartoony, almost-MLP look to the Transformers has served them well over the course of the series and they’ve fit right in alongside the ponies in Equestria. With a satisfyingly epic conclusion that tantalisingly hints at the potential for more crossovers to come, hopefully this isn’t the end of the road for the unexpectedly excellent Cybertron/Equestria mash up. Highly recommended fun for all ages, with some neat little references for older Transformers fans thrown in for good measure.
