Though Chuck Frenzy’s dark magic-powered success seems to be unravelling, his partner Sharlene’s popularity seems to be rising. Chuck can’t bear to lose the Championship, however – so he renews his twisted deal…leading to ever more horrific consequences for those in his vicinity.
Wow, to say this issue goes to some truly dark places is an understatement. It’s grim, pretty damn graphic and very disturbing. The ‘fun’ world of professional wrestling is a long, long way from this blood-soaked Macbeth homage.
It’s a pretty gripping read though; there’s no denying that it works extremely well and does exactly what it sets out to do, with John Lees and Ashley Cormack working together brilliantly – on writing and art duties respectively – to torture us poor readers in ever more horrible ways. With only one issue to go, it won’t be long before we see whether or not Chuck Frenzy gets his way overdue comeuppance.
